When Paul called me Saturday morning I wasn't positive if I should go on this run but I'm now glad I did.
The drive to the trail head seemed long and I still can't believe the amount of people that had the same idea and were out in the woods too. The only problem with that is that with so many people on the trail at once one stuck ends up slowing down a whole group of people. Also with so many people getting stuck means you end up tugging every stuck you come across.
Our little group consisted of two YJ's, a Willys M38, a lifted Dodge Ram 1/2 ton and a sturdy little GMC 1/2 ton. I was amazed what that GMC 1/2 ton was able to do, I mean it was totally stock.
For once I think I pulled more vehicles of of stucks that I needed which makes me feel good. And I was surprised I didn't need my winch once. Often when stuck all I needed was to rock my Jeep back and forth or pick a new line.
As far as I know nobody other than the GMC 1/2 ton suffered any trail damage. It lost a muffler and a bead on a tire but neither stopped it.
Once again we came across a bunch of people in the woods with stock trucks and too much to drink. They were really dangerous, its a true wonder that nobody got hurt the way they were acting. It would have been dangerous to try to pull them out.
