I hate Motor Vehicle Inspections, I know they're necessary but sometimes they can be costly. Every year the Liberty surprises me. It's an 04 Liberty so I don't ever expect that something will fail but something always does Last year it was rejected for bad front shocks. This year it almost failed because of a bad front wheel bearing. The mechanic was a good fellow and let me go because it wasn't all that bad and I told him I would get it fixed at the dealership. Here's the second part of my story. My Liberty has an extended service contract that covers most repairs. I called my dealership to learn that my extended service contract expired in June of this year Oh well, I guess I'm now responsible for 100% of my repairs. I believe I still have a 100km powertrain warranty on my Liberty. The next time I visit my dealership I'll have to verify it with them. The third part of my story, a new front wheel bearing will cost me $354 from NAPA. I'll see about replacing it later this summer. July has ben a real expensive month for me Oh yeah, I almost forgot. The YJ is due for a MVI too this month. Mostly sheet metal so I'm not expecting any expensive repairs.

Update, I had my Liberty in for a routine oil & filter change at the dealership and asked them to check my front wheel bearings. Surprisingly they couldn't find a problem with them So why did the first mechanic tell me they were failing and needed to be replaced? Anyways I guess I'll be saving myself some money.

JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT YOU CAN'T TRUST ALL THE SHOPS I seen parts come out of the box with more play in them than the one needing replacement
