Good afternoon I have been trying to find the rules and regulations for vehicles in New Brunswick, so far I have found this: www.canlii.org/nb/laws/sta/m-17/20080515/whole.htmlI did not see anything there about modifying vehicles, is there a better site to get this information from? I'll be making changes to my daughters Jeep but do not want the cops harrasing her. John

lol, randy and i fiddled with the censored word a bit we have to fix it...lol
for the regulation you ca go in the last board of this board wich is 4x4 preservation , and ask them the 4x4 preservation is new brunswick based and they have all the info you need
in nb it is a it depend s where you live thing up here in bathurst if you dont drive like an idiot and you dont draw all the attention on you and your rig look well built and is kept clean they wont bother her, plenty off rigs around running 40 incher and having the tire sticking out not getting harrased
cop never bother me and i have one jeep on 35 and one on 42 both street legal , some off them even commented how good my two jeep looks, and one asked whos nuts where hanging off the rear bumper..lol
here is a headligth heigth law but you would have to built something 4 inch higher then my jeep on 42 to be over the law and that would be pretty friggin tall

I think that basically if you do a modest lift (let's say 2") with a manufactured lift kit and 31" tires then you shouldn't have a problem with safety inspections.
I have a manufactured 4" Rubicon Express lift kit on my YJ and a 2.5" Rusty's Offroad lift kit on my KJ and don't have any problems with safety inspections.
The real problem comes from people who fabricate their own suspension components for an extreme lift.
Paul's YJ is an exception, its soundly built, well designed and won't fly apart as it rides down the road or on a trail. Still when he needs a safety inspection it helps to take it to a mechanic he knows well.
John, what does your daughter plan to do with her Jeep? A daily driver and weekend stock trail Jeep? What year & type of Jeep is it?

She has been wheeling around Pabineau Pits and north of the pump house, after a couple of trips that almost filled the Jeep with water and mud she decided to get another couple of inches ground clearance.
Right now it is a matter of getting all the parts together a little at a time. Most of the expense is going to be in the Tummy tuck and skids but they are most important when sliding over rocks

She is old enough to drive but still under age, besides she already has a boyfriend.
May have to get axles sooner than later, after a little jump at the pumphouse.

It was just a small one but the front wheels were off the ground, she got a little carried away learning to climb loose gravel hills.
Hopefully it is not tweeked, rather not have to upgrade axles right now.
