Last year I was at this run. I expected a lot of people drinking and acting like fools so I didn't pass up the chance to go again.
Toby & I met up with Paul and we headed to Sormany about 9:30.
Believe me it's a long drive to the end of the plowed roads in Sormany.

This was Paul's first run with the V8/360CU, boy it sounded sweet.
Toby's Jeep on 35's
The snow was great to wheel in as long as you stayed on the trail centerline. Even when you got into the deep stuff it wasn't all that difficult to back up and get back onto the trail, as long as it wasn't slushy underneath.
We didn't meet many trucks on the trail, guess it was too early for them to drink ;D We did have a couple of capable Geo Trackers following us. Considering they were riding on 31's I think they did pretty well.
We also met up with trio of capable Jeeps breaking trail to the lake.
We must have reached the lake by 1:30 or so and had a lunchbreak.
Through the whole trail I didn't need my winch once and only needed a tug/pull once after I got stuck trying to pull out a Tracker that was stuck deep in the snow. But not this Tracker, I pulled it out easily.
We met a lot of trucks on their way in as we left the woods. Most were very capable and the drivers sober. Not very entertaining ;D
Oh, wait, we did need my winch one time to pull Paul out of a stuck. He was trying to drive around another truck when he got bogged down in deep slush. Even his powerful 360CU could get him unstuck.
I tried to winch him tied to another Jeep but it didn't work. The solution was to tie myself to a tree and use a snatchblock.
I'm real surprised my "four pooper" was able to pull you out Paul. I'm also surprised that my frame didn't break in two or my winch didn't stall. God Bless Warn.
What was the name of that river where we stopped and played at Paul?
We entered the woods about 10:00 and left by suppertime. It was a long day for us and my feet were wet too.
