well tonigth i cleaned up the tool from around the shop and separated the tranny and the 258 now the question i got to find an anwer to is can i use the 258 flex plate on the 360 , they are both the same bolt patern but are they specific to one an the other , some research is to be done as the torque from the 999 doesnt bolt on the 360 flexplate here are the pics

more proress , i found out that the transmision tht was matted to the 360 used to be one of them gm th400, so i found and bougth a flywheel at the local auto part store set me back 67 bucks shiping included any how here are the pics new flywheel installed and loctited to the 360 had to remove the sleeve that is used to center the th400 torque converter since the th 400 has a smaller torque center mesured to make sure the tf999 center would fit snuggly in the centering hole the tranny is ready to go , and the torque is lined up the same way as the flywheel ,since one hole is offset and the balancing weigth on the flywheel wont allow the torque to be turned when the engine and tranny are bolted together, you also see the center of the torque wich has to fit in the center of the crankshaft then i found out i had a busted motor mount cleaned up the engine from the anti pollution and air injection crap and bolted everything togeter, once i get the motor mount ill be ready for mock up of the new motor mount the money shot ;D and i also cleaned up the front of the engine , i wont need the clutch fan as i already have a taurus fan and took the power steering pump off that is all for now

more progress tonigth got the engine horn cutted off but i was to lazy to grind them flush , so i finished my project of steering brace here are the pics cutted horns then i cutted the little tab on the steering box that is in the way of the brace then i took the brace that my buddy fred bended for me on the press and drilled some hole to get it mounted on the box ,i used a peice of tubing the same size as the box to get the hole drilled the rigth place then i made the cross bar and the frame bracket and i tied everyting up with grade 8 hardware, when i get the welder out to weld the new engine mount i will weld the frame mount to the frame and the cross bar to one side of the brace that is all for tonigth

I can't help but mention that we used a Libby to pull your Jeep to the front of the yard & back Paul ;D Not so gay now Eh?
I'm glad to be of assistance Paul. I would have been home drinking beer in front of the TV anyways. At least I helped accomplish something last night.
Your imagination in fabricating engine mounts was interesting Paul and you seem to know how to weld too.
I'm not sure how much you have left to do Paul but I'd be pleased too to see it on the road by Saturday morning in time for that run in Upper Tetagouche Lake.

had to run for bolts for the alternator, then i had to run for a starter , then the raven muffler where rotten so i had to run for a cherry bomb ;D but she is togheter and the swap is done , ligth testing around the house made me discover she had load of power even enuf to lift a front tire if needed, lol, the two cherry bomb coupled to the about 3 feet of exhaust pipe in the front made it sound like hell on wheel ,boy do i love the sound of a double exhausted v-8 here some steamy pic happy its done now let go wheeling
