This is more of a "tech story" than a question.
Last Winter I had a chronic cooling system problem with the YJ. I learned a lot from that lesson. Recently I've noticed that the air conditioning in my Libby didn't work when I wasn't moving. I thought it was odd but not that important. This past weekend I was parked on the side of the highway with the engine idling helping a fellow Jeeper who had split open hid transfer case when I noticed steam pouring from my Jeep. It was a bit of a mystery until I realized that even though the engine was hot the clutch fan was spinning freely.
Once the engine cooled off I was able to continue my trip, it doesn't overheat at highway speeds.
I've put in a call to my dealership for them to order me a new clutch fan and call me with an appointment when it arrives.
By the way, my Libby has an OEM trailer package complete with a tranny cooler & an electric fan in front of the clutch fan. I'm assuming it doesn't turn on until the tranny begins to overheat.
