come wheel with us anytime bud , we have people on 31 that follow us most of the time What Paul didn't mention is that when people with 31's follow us on the trails usually do it from the end of a tow rope ;D I seem to remember that Eric literally pulled a stock YJ through an entire Bathurst Mud Run one year Heck, during the Bathurst Snow Run Charles took me for a long tug, must have pulled me for two kms...I wasn't stuck that long I was just along for the ride , like water skiing.

Don't take this like a personal attack but that is typical newbie offroader talk. Yes bigger tires helps alot but I've seen rigs on 31's run circles around rigs on 35's just because the driver new what he was doing. Having the bigger jeep helps but if you don't know how to drive it, it's useless. I only had 31's on my Jeep and rarely did I have a problem following the big boys. By no means am I trying to say I'm a great or experience driver but you have to know what your Jeep can or can't do and then pick the best line through/over the obstacle.
And to agree with Luc, there isn't a whole lot of difference between 31's and 33's.

I have to agree with Dart, equipment is no substitute for good driving. I've put a lift, 33" tires and a winch on my Jeep and it hasn't done much to improve my driving ability , hours driving on the trails has. I've followed many Rubi's with 31's through the trails. The only obvious problem with their 31's is the clearance beneath your Jeep. You'll be skidding across stumps & rocks and "puckering up" when you attempt a water crossing. Of course having Rubi lockers didn't hurt either. Even though they look great big tires create their own problems like balancing, throwing off the gear ratios and requiring more lift.

There isn't a huge ground clearance difference between 33's and 31's.
